The association was formed on 23rd August 2005 by Elaine Phillips (Chairman) and James Elmer (Secretary) following a flyer hand out by Elaine on 1st August, in advance of the “One Meet the Management” open meeting at Marks Tey station on 2nd August 2005.

Our objective is to improve the quality of services and facilities provided by those companies responsible for our total rail service.

Kelvedon Rail Users Association, whose membership already exceeds 100, has had a number of successes in negotiating improved services and facilities and MTRUA hopes to build upon these successes. Work is already well underway; commuter's comments have been passed to One. The official formation of the association took place on 23rd August 2005 and the inaugural meeting was held on 10th October 2005 with an Evening Gazette reporter in attendance. An article was published in the Evening Gazette the following day. BBC Essex has also recorded Elaine speaking on behalf of the MTRUA for a sound bite which aired on 13th October 2005.

Meetings have been held with One and ongoing progress will be detailed on "The News" page of our website. If you use or are associated with Marks Tey station, whether satisfied or dissatisfied with the current services or facilites, then we would ask you to take this opportunity to browse our site, to subscribe to our newsletter and to join the association and support us in achieving our objective.

Thank you for your support.
